I Asked Genie, can we improve our brain’s capacity, he replied, “Your wish is my command, take this mind map method and improve your brain”.
When the term “mind mapping” was coined by Tony Buzan on the BBC’s “Use Your Head” in 1974, our ways in which we take notes, brainstorm and study has changed forever.
Mind map is powerful as it uses both the left/right brain, colors, diagrams in more meaningful way. So learning, recalling topics of science, math’s, language is highly improved.
A mind map is a diagram which is used to visually organize information. A mind map is hierarchical and shows relationships among pieces of the whole. It is often created around a single concept, drawn as an image in the center of a blank page, to which associated representations of ideas such as images, words and parts of words are added. Major ideas are connected directly to the central concept, and other ideas branch out from those major ideas.
By using words, pictures, and diagrams, you are able to organize your thoughts in a way that helps you follow your train of thought when you come back to study further. Using a combination of words and pictures while studying is six times more advantageous for remembering information than words alone.
